Nicole

Nicole Carlson is from Duluth, Minnesota and has been coaching gymnastics and tumbling since 2013. Nicole started her coaching career at Twin Ports gymnastics, where she grew up training. Since then, she joined the Madill staff and has led our tumbling program since 2019.

Nicole started gymnastics at the age of 5 and continued throughout high school, competing as a level 9 gymnast. Nicole competed at the state, regional and international level as a competitor. One of Nicole’s favorite parts about competing was traveling; competing in Hawaii, Vegas, & Chicago were all highlights from her high school career. Where Nicole really had fun though was in practice, as she enjoyed the conditioning, drilling, & hard work it took to become the best she could be.

After high school, Nicole went to college for surgical technology. Nicole worked at Essentia Health in orthopedic trauma for 5 years before deciding to do more of what she loves; coaching tumbling and being a SAHM.

Other things that Nicole enjoys include baking, camping, fairs, days at the lake, & any extra time spent with family.

Nicole has always enjoyed coaching kids at every stage. Teaching at Madill has brought her a lot of joy. She loves using her experience as a gymnast & coach to help girls learn something new. Seeing them be proud of their hard work is so rewarding. Nicole hopes that she can always help kids to improve, feel accomplished, and instill determination!
